RIPPLE OF CARE

This series is a deeply personal exploration of kindness and vulnerability, expressed through the delicate beauty of flowers and the intimate moments I share with my mother as she faces increasing illness. Unlike the Ripple series, which pursued technical perfection, these photographs embrace imperfection and the moment: the sudden appearance of a butterfly, the trace of a bug, the fleeting openness of a glance. What the images lack in polish, they gain in depth, grounded in shared time and the tenderness of presence.

Each visit to the garden is both a challenge and a gift: while my mother’s dementia and immobility make the journey difficult, she greets every bloom as though for the first time. Her wonder renews my own, and in these small, imperfect encounters I find something more profound than precision. Through soft light, close focus, and gentle compositions, I hold together sadness and joy, fragility and resilience. The blooming flowers alongside my mother’s journey reflect the enduring power of love and care, showing that kindness is a quiet yet transformative force carrying us through life’s most difficult seasons.
